The Saskatoon Police Service say a 36-year-old man is charged with four offences, mostly related to impaired driving.
Around 5:30 p.m. Thursday patrol officers received a report of a possible impaired driver in the 3900 block of 8th Street East – that’s between McKercher Drive and the Wildwood Golf Course.
Police say when officers approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated and drove into a building.
The driver is charged with Impaired Driving, Refusal to Comply with Demand, Driving while Prohibited, and Breach of Court-Imposed Conditions.
Meanwhile, the Saskatoon Fire Department say a vehicle was spotted in water east of Saskatoon on Highway 16.
The vehicle was in a slough and when fire crews arrived police let them know the driver had self-extricated from the vehicle.
Fire crews in water rescue personal protective equipment entered the slough to confirm there was no one else inside the vehicle or the water.
RCMP are investigating.
