Loon Lake RCMP say on Monday they located two wanted men and arrested a woman on charges relating to drugs and assaulting a police officer.

Around 5:00 a.m. officers responded to the report of a drug-impaired person on a street of Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation. As they headed to the location, they saw a man who was wanted on warrant going into a home on the same street.

They went to the home and spoke to those inside which is when two men were arrested without incident. However, RCMP say a woman at the home became confrontational and punched two police officers. Police officers told her to stop moving but she left the entrance area of the residence and went down the stairs. She was arrested outside the home and seen by EMS for what were described as minor injuries.

Police arrested 30-year-old Lane Anthony Purves, from Edmonton, who was wanted on warrant from Swift Current RCMP for charges including theft.

Twenty-eight-year-old Rayden Joe Kytwayhat, from Makwa Sahgiahecan First Nation, SK, who was wanted on warrant from Loon Lake RCMP for charges including domestic assaults, was arrested.

Forty-year-old Rose Georgina Angus, also from Makwa Sahgiahecan First Nation is facing six charges including assault and resist a police officer and was in court Tuesday.

Videos have apparently been shared for what RCMP describes as one part of the incident and after reviewing it at the Saskatchewan RCMP District level, which including the viewing of body worn camera footage, Saskatchewan RCMP believe the force used by police offices in the incident was reasonable. That body worn camera footage will be presented during court proceedings.
