Behind every successful young athlete, there is almost always a set of loving and supportive parents – and that is the case with Blair and Tara Beck (pictured)!
Their son Carter (pictured below) realized his baseball dream this past Saturday when the Atlanta Braves made the 21-year-old Carnduff product the 26th overall selection, in the first round, of the Major League draft. Carter made a quick trip up to Saskatoon Wednesday and thrilled many of 2,014 fans at Cairns Field by signing autographs and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, prior to his former Berries’ team playing host to the Lethbridge Bulls. With Carter were Blair and Tara, who took some time to answer questions from the assembled media…..
Carter Beck travelled to Minot Thursday to look after some paperwork with the Braves, and will continue to North Port, Florida, Friday to join the Atlanta affiliate in the Florida Complex League to begin his professional career.
