Two 25-year-old women are facing numerous charges following a weapons offence and evade police incident Friday night.

At 10:10 p.m., police were called to the 300 block of Avenue C South for a report that a woman pointed a firearm out the window of a vehicle.

Responding officers attempted a traffic stop was initiated in the area of 20th Street West and Avenue D South, but the vehicle sped away, ignoring red lights.

Officers followed the vehicle as it drove south on Idylwyld Drive before eventually leaving the city on Highway 16, where it eventually came to a stop near Range Road 3040.

The pair were arrested with the assistance of a Corman Park Police Service drone. Police also located a backpack which contained a firearm and ammunition.
