Canada and Turkey have agreed to launch Free-Trade Agreement negotiations following discussions leading up to the NATO Summit, taking place in Turkey.
A release from the Prime Minister’s office says the negotiations hope to lead toward a comprehensive, modern, and mutually beneficial FTA.
This closer economic cooperation will aim to support economic growth, job creation, enhance competitiveness, strengthen supply chains, and help both country’s businesses succeed in the current global economy.
In the months ahead, the technical teams from both countries will work to define the scope and ambition of the agreement and prepare for the first round of negotiations.
