Prince Albert RCMP are on the hunt for four suspects and a stolen red SUV following a robbery in the early hours of Canada Day on Highway #2, north of Prince Albert – and police are asking for the public’s help.
According to a Saskatchewan RCMP news release, the Prince Albert detachment received a report at about 1:45 a.m. on July 1 that had four people with a firearm threaten three individuals, stealing their vehicle in the process from a business on Highway #2, north of Prince Albert.
The suspects fled north on Highway #2 in both their own vehicle – a black SUV and the stolen vehicle – described as a red 2020 Hyundai Tucson SUV with Saskatchewan license plate 754 KSI. None of the three victims reported injuries to police.
At this time, the suspects and both SUVs have yet to be located – although a short time after the initial incident, Prince Albert RCMP located a vehicle that matched the stolen vehicle’s description driving at a high rate of speed on Highway #355 near Sturgeon Lake First Nation. The vehicle would not stop when officers attempted a traffic stop and was last seen headed west on Highway #263 near Christopher Lake.
Suspect descriptions are vague – one was described as a female, who may have pink coloured hair and was wearing a baseball cap while a second suspect was wearing a blue or black plaid jacket. Descriptions for the other two suspects are not available to date. Anyone who has information about the incident or witnessed suspicious activity in the areas near Prince Albert, Sturgeon Lake First Nation or Christopher Lake in the early hours of July 1 is asked to contact the Prince Albert RCMP at 310-RCMP or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
