Corman Park Police Service, which earlier in the summer had pledged to be patrol vigilantly for speeders, said just after lunch time on Wednesday their officers conducted a traffic stop on a speeding car.

The police say the vehicle was caught doing 143 km/hr in the 80 km/hr zone at the intersection of Highway 16 and Dalmeny Road.

The driver was issued a $944 fine for speeding. The driver also lost their license for 7 days and had their vehicle impounded for 30 days.
