Battlefords RCMP responded to an injured person report at the North Battleford Hospital Saturday at 3:45 a.m. and determined a good Samaritan who pulled over to check on a stopped vehicle near Cando was shot.
When the victim approached the truck, the driver got out, discharged a firearm, got back in the truck and fled the area.
The male victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have limited details but say the truck had two male occupants with the passenger being tall and wearing a face cover. The truck is a dark coloured Dodge.
Anyone with information or who witnessed suspicious activity in the Cando area in the early hours June 27th is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
