Most of the speed camera boxes in Saskatchewan are currently sitting empty following a fallout with the provider company.
Verra Mobility Systems was the vendor for the province’s nine photo speed cameras. However, at the end of May, the company ended its contract with SGI early and took its cameras with it.
SGI says it has since issued a Request for Proposal for a partner and is currently transitioning to a new vendor.
In the meantime, it adds that equipment will be temporarily inactive at points, but law enforcement will continue to provide speed enforcement across the province.
