RCMP in Lloydminster arrested a woman after an officer was injured in a stolen vehicle investigation.
On Monday night around 9 p.m. Lloydminster RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a local business. Officers located the vehicle with two females inside and they determined that the vehicle had been stolen out of Loon Lake.
The officer told the women inside they were under arrest which is when the driver put the vehicle in drive dragging the officer before fleeing the area.
A pursuit of the vehicle traversed Highway 17 in Saskatchewan with speeds more than 180 kilometres per hour being reached. The suspects doubled back to Lloydminster and tried to ditch the vehicle in the city and then flee but were quickly taken into custody.
Twenty-five-year-old Kailey Roy from Meadow Lake is facing a half dozen charges including assault a peace officer and possession of property over $5,000. The RCMP say the injured officer was taken to hospital, and is now recovering at home after having been treated and released.
Kailey Roy (25), a resident of Meadow Lake, SK, has been charged with the following:
– Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
-Fail to stop for a peace officer
-Possession of stolen property over $5000
-Assault a peace officer
-Fail to comply with release conditions (x2)
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Roy was remanded to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster on June 25, 2026.
