BC Highway Patrol managed to reunite five stolen pets with their owners in Saskatchewan.
On May 24th just after 2:00 p.m. a BC Highway Patrol officer was patrolling Highway #1 on Vancouver Island, also known as the Malahat Highway when he says he spotted the driver of a blue sedan giving him strange looks.
When the officer checked the vehicle’s Ontario license plates, he learned that the driver was wanted for a Canada-wide arrest warrant originating in Saskatchewan. The vehicle was pulled over, and a 36-year-old Ontario man was arrested.
When BC Highway Patrol contacted the Saskatchewan RCMP unit that requested the arrest warrant, they learned that the warrant was for theft of animals, and those animals matched the description of the two dogs and three cats that were found in the blue sedan.
The dogs and cats were transferred to the protective custody of the local animal control and have now completed the long journey to be returned to their rightful owners in Saskatchewan.
