The Fraser Institute in its most recent survey gauging the performance of the country’s premiers says Saskatchewan’s Scott Moe remains steady at 50 per cent while Manitoba’s Wab Kinew continues to hold high esteem among his electorate, with three-in-five approving of his performance and a 12-point advantage over any other provincial leader
Quebec’s new Premier Christine Fréchette begins her tenure with approval from about two-in-five in the province which is a 13-point improvement over the final approval rating registered for former Premier Francois Legault.
Three of the country’s most prominent leaders seem to be experiencing unrest among the electorate with the premiers of Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, says the Fraser Institute, falling to personal lows.
The Institute says Alberta’s Danielle Smith’s approval dropped to an all-time low at 39 per cent as her government makes headlines over an October referendum on Alberta separatism, as well as pipelines. B.C.’s David Eby saw his approval fall to 31 per cent and in Ontario Doug Ford fell to 21 per cent which is the lowest it been after eight years as premier.
