Montreal Lake and Waskesiu RCMP received a report an injured man at a home on Montreal Lake First Nation shortly after 1a.m. Monday morning.

Officers arriving on scene located the victim and provided first aid. When EMS was arrived he was declared deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Steven Beatty from Timber Bay.

RCMP say the death is supicious in nature and the Homicide Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.
