The Lobstick wildfire appears to be stabilizing and that is good news for cattle producers in the Shellbrook area.
Christine Strube is the Reeve for the RM of Shellbrook and is also the District Representative with the Saskatchewan Cattle Association.
Strube has been extremely busy with emergency planning and response for several days.
About 130 people in the southern part of the RM of Shellbrook were evacuated on Friday evening. No homes have been destroyed by fire and as far as Strube knows—ranchers have not had to move any cattle.
Strube wants to thank all of the people from the Shellbrook region and beyond who have help to pitch in during this challenging time.
