A 27-year-old man from Calgary has been arrested after a vehicle fled from police on Highway #1 near Swift Current.

Yesterday at 12:10 p.m., Moose Jaw RCMP observed a vehicle speeding west on Highway #1.

Officers spotted the vehicle east of Rush Lake travelling over 200 kilometres per hour in a 110 kilometre per hour zone.

The vehicle continued westbound after an unsuccessful traffic stop. A short time later, the vehicle stopped and the driver was arrested by police outside of a business in Swift Current.

The man was also ticketed for driving more than 50 km/hr over the speed limit, which results in a seven-day license suspension, a 30-day vehicle impoundment and a $580 fine.
