More fire bans as the weather heats up in Saskatchewan

The number of RM’s issuing fire bans is growing after just a few days of hot windy conditions and with at least a few more on the way.

As of Wednesday afternoon, there were active fire bans in 16 RM’s including the following north and west of Saskatoon—-Laird, Redberry, Duck Lake and Rosthern. Then there is a cluster in the Prince Albert region with a fire ban—-Buckland, Lakeland, Garden River, Prince Albert and Shellbrook. In the far northwest, there are fire bans at Meadow Lake, Loon Lake and Wilton, which is in the Lloydminster area.

Hot temperatures and windy conditions over the next few days will not help the situation and we can expect additional RM’s to issue fire bans in the coming days.
