The victim of a reported drowning in Banff National Park was recovered Tuesday, deceased.

On May 1, Banff RCMP and Parks Canada responded to the Lower Falls area at Johnston Canyon. Crews were unable to locate a victim as the water conditions were turbulent and dangerous.

However, yesterday morning, a body was reported in the Johnston Creek downstream of the lower pool of the Lower Falls. RCMP and Parks Canada closed the trail for the recovery, however, it has since re-opened.
