The Saskatoon Blades made a trade prior to Wednesday night’s W-H-L Prospects Draft, but it doesn’t have anything to do with proceedings over the next two days.
The Bridge City Bunch has acquired Prince George’s first round pick in the 2026 C-H-L Import Draft for a first round pick in the 2027 C-H-L Import Draft. That gives the Blue and Gold two picks in the first round this year. The final order and date for the 2026 C-H-L Import Draft has yet to be finalized. It is held annually in the first week of July. Blades, Cougars swap first-round import draft picks
Edmonton, AB – The Saskatoon Blades have struck a deal ahead of the 2026 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft. The Bridge City Bunch have acquired the Prince George Cougar’s first round selection in the 2026 Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Import Draft in exchange for a first round pick in the 2027 CHL Import Draft.
Held annually in the first week of July, the final order and date for this summer’s CHL Import Draft is yet to be finalized.
