Saskatoon Centre MLA Betty Nippi-Albright made the announcement in a statement released on Facebook late Tuesday afternoon.

Nippi-Albright said she had not felt the support or respect required to carry out her work representing the community in her riding.

NDP Leader Carla Beck was not given advance notice of the announcement.  When speaking to reporters in Regina, Beck said she was surprised and plans to speak to Nippi-Albright on Tuesday evening before taking questions from reporters on Wednesday.
