That eye-in-the-sky can be a real impediment to people breaking the law in Saskatoon. Take last weekend for example. The Saskatoon Police Department’s Air Support Unit is flying overhead and spots three vehicles involved in street racing in the city’s north industrial areas. Patrol Units on the ground were able to locate two of them. Those two vehicles allegedly hit 113 kilometers an hour in a 50 zone. The drivers were charged with Racing and Disobeying a Stop Sign. One of them was charged with driving while disqualified. Their vehicles have been impounded for 30 days.
