This is Vanese Ferguson with Coffee Talk. I completely get anyone’s frustration with potholes. I actually have some of them memorized. Theres the cluster as you go over the overpass westbound on Circle near the Lorne Avenue exit. Or a whole string of them adjacent to the sign that says Airport Drive in a kilometre, as well as the one in the inside lane as you immediately turn left onto Airport Drive. A new I found, thankfully, not with a tire because it was very deep was westbound the block before 8th Street Superstore. In my travels this week going down Warman Drive a woman was stopped on the inside lane and I thought her car engine or something of that nature had run into problems. But she actually ran into a pothole bad enough it caused damage as she was driving a compact car. She had got out to take pictures of the vehicle, where it was and the damage. I saw a post on Facebook where someone stopped to help a senior who hit one on Lorne and the fellow helping says a control arm was snapped in half/ cv axle ripped out of transmission and a broken stabilizer end link. I know we replace a radiator on our car one year after hitting a pothole. It is a particularly terrible pothole season. Perhaps we need social media platform where when you come across one that is present day not repaired, it can serve the same purpose of knowing construction zones are. As long as this weather can stop being cranky, we might actually get the darn things filled in a permanent fashion. There is that report a pothole function on the city website and you can call the customer care line.
Potholes, potholes, potholes….
