Hundseth Power Line Construction Company pleaded guilty to one violation of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2020 in Yorkton Provincial Court on March 25th.
The Company was charged with contravening clause 3-1, which is failure of an employer to provide any information, instruction, training and supervision that is necessary to protect the health and safety of workers at work, resulting in a serious injury of a worker.
The charge came following an incident in which a worked was seriously injured while working on a power pole on April 16th, 2023, near Canora.
As a result, the Court imposed a fine of $50,000, along with a victim fine surcharge of $20,000, for a total fine of $70,000. One charge was withdrawn.
