The Correctional Service of Canada says on Tuesday Dexter Burns, an inmate from the Regional Psychiatric Centre, died while in custody.
At the time of death the inmate was 67 years old and had been serving a life sentence since February 23rd, 1984. Corrections officials say it appears he died of natural causes.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
