A child was hit by a car this morning just before school started.
It was around 8:40 a.m. police were called to the 400 block of Pendygrasse Road which is where Saint Mark School is located.
A 13-year-old-girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was receiving help from bystanders. Paramedics transported her to hospital.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was issued tickets for driving without due care and attention, failing to yield to a pedestrian, and driving while holding a class 7 learners license not accompanied by a valid class 5 license holder.
