In about 2-and-a-half weeks you can expect to see the University Bridge completely closed between Clarence Avenue and Hospital Drive.
Construction will involve different projects taking place including Link system construction on College Drive between Clarence and Preston Avenue, 25th Street water main lining from 1st Avenue to Spadina Crescent, University Bridge work, including arch repairs, refinishing the driving surface, and drain inspections and repairs
In a release on their website the City says, “the phased approach is designed to reduce overall impacts, but people travelling through the College Corridor – including those heading to hospitals, USask, and nearby businesses – should expect delays and detours.”
During the closure involving the University Bridge emergency vehicle access to the hospital will be maintained throughout construction. Saskatoon Transit will be accommodated via the eastbound lanes of University Bridge and College Drive to the intersection of Hospital Drive for approximately 3 weeks but will be detoured for the remainder of the closure. Pedestrian access on the south side of the bridge will remain open.
The actual date of construction start-up and the bridge closure is subject to weather and confirmation of a mobilization date to site from SaskEnergy.
