Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Team (SERT) – with support from Yorkton RCMP – seized two firearms at a residential property in Yorkton.
On March 9th the RCMP obtained a warrant and searched a home on Russell Drive in Yorkton and in a news release police say that during the search of a residence and vehicle at the property, officers located and seized a loaded prohibited firearm, a non-restricted firearm, ammunition, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Three men were arrested.
Thirty-seven-year-old Tyrone Ackerman, 31-year-old Yahye Mohamed, and 31-year-old Taylor Nardi, all from Fort McMurray, AB, are charged with the following:
– one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm
– one count, possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized
– one count, possession of a firearm/weapon/device/ammunition in motor vehicle
– one count, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
Tyrone Ackerman was additionally charged with four counts, weapons possession contrary to order
Tyrone Ackerman and Taylor Nardi are scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on March 25 while Yahye Mohamed is scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on March 30, 2026.
