The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a fire at a home in the 1700 block of Avenue D North Friday afternoon.

The fire was reported at 12:37 pm, and firefighters saw smoke and flames coming from an attached garage upon arrival.

Crews fought the fire while another crew searched the building to confirm no one was inside.

Fire crews set up large fans to remove any lingering smoke and toxins from the house.

The fire was extinguished and a search confirmed that all occupants safely evacuated.

A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate.
