A man is facing a number of charges following an incident where the windshield of a police officer’s unmarked police vehicle was smashed just a block away from Saskatoon Police Headquarters.
Wednesday morning around 8:30 a.m. an officer’s unoccupied vehicle was parked in the 300 block of Ontario Avenue when a staff member at the Saskatoon Police Service saw a man climb onto the hood of the vehicle and proceed to smash the windshield.
The incident was immediately reported alongside a suspect description. Responding officers quickly located a male suspect walking near 25th Street East and 1st Avenue North.
The suspect started to run but was arrested without further incident shortly after.
The 39-year-old man has been charged with mischief over $5000, resisting arrest, and two counts of breach of probation.
