Battlefords RCMP say a report they received of an armed suspicious person and the lock down at North Battleford Comprehensive High School were completely unrelated events.
Their investigation revealed that the lockdown procedure at the school was initiated at approximately 3:25 p.m. Tuesday. However, the report of a suspicious person, possibly with a firearm, near the high school, came in two minutes later at 3:27 p.m.
Battlefords RCMP responded to the high school, clearing the building and aiding in evacuation. At 4:15 p.m. an individual who matched the suspicious person description was taken into custody. No firearm was located.
