Zero COVID-19 or Influenza deaths in two week reporting period, CRISP report says

There were no COVID-19 or Influenza deaths in the past two weeks, according to Saskatchewan’s latest Community Respiratory Illness Surveillance Program (CRISP) report.

The report added that COVID-19 test positivity decreased from 5.6 per cent to 3.6 per cent in the last reporting period, with RSV decreasing from 11.7 per cent to 10.5 per cent, and Influenza remaining stable at 5 per cent.

There were 20 respiratory virus associated outbreaks reported in high risk settings such as long term care facilities, personal care homes and group homes in the past reporting period. Five were due to COVID-19, five were due to RSV and 10 were due to other respiratory viruses.

Hospitalizations for COVID-19, Influenza and RSV continued to decrease. ICU admissions for COVID-19 and Influenza remained stable while RSV ICU admissions increased in the past two weeks.
