The City of Saskatoon says Highway 11 northbound and Highway 16 eastbound restrictions remain in place in the wake of the overpass structure being damaged.
City of Saskatoon staff and structural engineers reviewed the damage Thursday evening and are continuing to assess the extent of damage.
The City also says planning for repairs to the overpass is underway but due to the complexity and extent of the work, there is no repair timeline as yet. Work is ongoing to safely remove loose concrete and address immediate safety concerns.
Highway 16 eastbound will remain reduced to a single lane until repairs can be arranged and completed. Provided the structure is confirmed to be safe, the City anticipates reopening Highway 11 northbound lanes beneath the structure by the end of the day.
