The Saskatoon Police Service says a man previously charged in Saskatoon’s first homicide of 2026 is now facing new charges and the original charges of manslaughter and aggravated assault have been withdrawn.
On February 3rd around 5:30 a.m. Police responded to St. Paul’s Hospital after two men showed up seeking treatment for stab wounds. Both men were 25 years old and while one man recovered, the other man succumbed to his injuries.
On February 7th police advised that n 18-year-old male was arrested and charged.
On Thursday investigators went to the correctional facility in Saskatoon and charged the 18-year-old with accessory after the fact to manslaughter, accessory after the fact to aggravated assault, public mischief, and obstruction of justice.
The Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate.
