Saskatoon Summer Players’ mid-season show Building Broadway is going to be held at The Refinery this month.
Catlin Hogan, one of the show’s performers, says that the showcase will feature something for everyone.
“We have three directors and three choreographers who submitted ideas that inspired them and then built a cast around that. There’s such a wide variety of numbers in this show, everything from Sound of Music to Rocky Horror Picture Show and everything in between. It’s going to be a blast at The Refinery!”
Hogan believes that the show will be as fun for the audience as it has been for everyone involved in creating it.
“I know a lot of us actors, we have enjoyed the variety as well, and we’ve been having a lot of fun with it. All of these numbers are just fantastic and it’s going to be a really fun time, and I think people are really going to enjoy it.”
He adds that Saskatoon’s theatre community stepped up when it came to crafting the show with love and care.
“None of us get paid, this is all volunteer. All of us have day jobs. It’s something, that for me, gives me energy. It’s very much a labour of love, that almost sounds cliche, but it is true.”
Tickets for Building Broadway are available at saskatoonsummerplayers.ca. The show will run from February 20th to the 22nd.
