Renovation work is beginning on a new Complex Needs Facility (CNF) in Prince Albert to help individuals who are intoxicated or behaving in a way that is dangerous to themselves or others.
The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement will soon begin interior demolition at the site, which is located on 9th street east. Concept Plus Architecture has been awarded the contract to design the Prince Albert CNF. Work is being done to award a construction contract and find an organization to operate the CNF.
Only police will be able to bring individuals to the CNF under the Summary Offences Procedures Act. The individuals will be monitored for up to 24 hours for the negative effects of intoxication. Clients will be connected to services following their stay to support long term recovery. Health care professionals and security personnel will be on-site to care for up to 15 individuals.
The Prince Albert CNF Is expected to begin operating this summer. An information night is being held on Feburary 10th to share details about the project.
