This is Vanese Ferguson with Coffee talk. So, lots of discussion lately about airlines packing people in planes like sardines – all squished together. It’s not new. I remember probably 15 years ago, going to Cuba via Sunwing and you could barely move your legs with the seat up in front of you. And it got so much better when the person in front puts their seat back. I figure if you’re going to have reduced leg room in order to fit more seats in the plane then the seat shouldn’t be able to go back. Unless you’re on an overnight flight or a particularly long flight why can’t you sit up for the duration. I fall among those who answered our newspoll question about how they choose to book a flight – economical with a few perks – that was the vast majority. The way I look at it – I travel to go on vacation, so I don’t want to begin or end my time off with possible misery. But I do hope that airlines figure out how to provide an option – for free – for those people who have physical challenges or a health issue where such arrangement is an impediment to their ability to manage. Or am I being too optimistic?
Planes aren’t any bigger but there’s more seats in some
