This is Vanese Ferguson with Coffee Talk. SOS Prairie Rescue was called out to a rural home in Saskatchewan on January 3rd after an ungodly situation was discovered. A case of hoarding, I don’t know if you can even call it that. Horrifying images of not only the circumstances almost three dozen cats were living in but apparently a human presence as well. This is a remarkable message from the folks at SOS Prairie Rescue and I will present it – verbatim. “At the centre of situations like the one we responded to are people — people who deserve dignity, compassion, and care. Homes like this don’t exist in isolation, and they are not created by cruelty. They are most often the result of people struggling without access to support, services, or early intervention. Scenes like this are tragically familiar to frontliners, first responders, and animal welfare organizations — but often invisible to everyone else. Quiet suffering happening in communities every single day. Animals are often the first visible sign that something is deeply wrong. Not the cause — the signal.” So, hats off to SOS Prairie Rescue, SCAT Cat Street Rescue, Mozart Animal Sanctuary, YXE Pet Parlour, the Foam Lake Vet clinic and now I believe also the Orchard Vet Clinic and all of the fosters stepping up to provide homes.
Animal rescue involves a lot of volunteers with big hearts
