The City of Warman’s 2026 Municipal Budget has been approved at Monday’s, Regular Meeting of Council.

The Municipal tax rate will be increasing by 3.55 percent in the 2026 Municipal Budget.

This represents an increase of approximately $8.42 per month on a home with a $375,000 assessed value.

The Capital Budget comes in at $8,745,000, with just over three and a half million designated for the new Public Works building.

City Council managed to find enough savings to bring property tax increase to almost a half point below the initial estimate of over four per cent.

In a news release Mayor Gary Philipchuk said, “Inflation continues to affect all our lives.  We feel that this budget is a testament to the dedication we have for our residents while ensuring the continuance of quality services and programs in our community.”

Capital Budget Highlights:

$3,531,000 – New Public Works Shop – The Public Works & Utilities department has outgrown its current location on North Railway Street and, as a result, there is no space to add any new equipment. The new facility will give the City of Warman the option to add equipment to keep up with our growing community.

$1,000,000 – Lift Station 1 Reconstruction – Design and construction to replace aged facility.

$830,000 – Warman Fire Rescue Engine #12 Replacement

$400,000 – Warman Home Centre Communiplex Upgrades – Netting, spectator seating, lighting controls and entrance paving stones.

$350,000 – Warman Fire Tactical Rescue Truck 13 Replacement

$300,000 – City Hall Expansion – Planning and detailed architectural drawings. Construction to take place over 2027 and 2028.

$250,000 – ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System – A unified system that helps businesses manage and automate core daily operations such as finance and human resources.

$225,000 – Gravel Truck – For Public Works.

$150,000 – RCMP Expansion – Preliminary drawings to begin process of expansion.

$140,000 – Warman Fire Rescue Command 16 Truck Replacement
