Police in southern Saskatchewan are warning residents and businesses to beware of counterfeit cash.
On Wednesday Moose Jaw Police responded to a report of two counterfeit $100 dollar bills were discovered at a local business.
They say other police jurisdictions have also reported counterfeit $100 bills being circulated.
The Moose Jaw Police Service reminds the public that anyone who discovers they are in possession of counterfeit currency should report it to their local police agency
Some tips for retailers if they think they have come across a counterfeit bill is to politely refuse and explain you think it might be counterfeit and advise the person to check the note with local police.
They stress that it’s important to be courteous because the person with that phony note could be very will be a victim themselves.
