Flags are flying at half-mast at the Saskatchewan Legislature in honour of Herb Cox, a Sask. Party MLA who represented the Battlefords constituency for nine years.
Cox was first elected in 2011 and was re-elected in 2016. He was appointed to the cabinet as Environment Minister in 2016, but stepped aside to undergo stem cell treatment for cancer. It was his second cancer diagnosis, after being treated for bone cancer in 2012.
In a social media post, Premier Scott Moe said Cox served his community and his province with honour and dedication.
Premier Scott Moe expressed his condolences.
