Trick or treaters can expect some pleasant weather on their Friday evening out, but the same cannot be said for the rest of the weekend. 

Environment Canada Meteorologist James Colangelo says a high-pressure system is making its way in, meaning no rain or snow is expected for the province on Friday. 

“You’ll really just be dealing with cloud a little bit in the first half of the day, and it will be slowly clearing in the second half. Temperatures will be around normal for this time of year in the low single digits.” 

Despite the mild weather, he advises children and teens to bundle up for a low of minus one Friday evening.  

However, a system is moving in from Alberta on Saturday night carrying over into Sunday. The Meadow Lake, La Ronge, Pelican Narrows area could expect to see several forms of precipitation. 

“They might see some showers overnight Saturday and could see a mix of snow in there as well in the northern edge of the system. There could be a couple centimetres on the ground potentially in the La Ronge area, and maybe a little bit north.” 

Further south, the Saskatoon region could see a wind warning for gusts upwards of 60 kilometres per hour.  

“For areas further south, you could see potentially even stronger winds, maybe 80 or even higher.”
