Murder charge laid in suspicious death investigation

Swift Current RCMP say a 54-year-old man has been charged with second degree murder in connection to a death from this past summer.

On August 8th at approximately 1:10 a.m., Swift Current Municipal RCMP received a report of a male who was injured at a home on 1st Avenue NW in Swift Current.

A man was taken to hospital where he was later declared deceased. He has been identified as 29-year-old Matthew Neufeld from Swift Current.

As the death was considered suspicious, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigated the suspicious death Christopher Sean Foster from Swift Current was arrested this past Wednesday. He was in Swift Current Provincial Court to face charges Friday.
