As of October 1, minimum wage in Saskatchewan will increase to $15.35 per hour.
The Government of Saskatchewan says it uses an indexation formula with the intent of giving equal weight to the Consumer Price Index and Average Hourly Wage for Saskatchewan.
In 2022, the Government of Saskatchewan indicated it would make incremental increases to minimum wage which resulted in a 27 per cent increase from $11.81 per hour to $15 per hour by 2024.
Five Canadian provinces boosted their minimum wage on October 1st. In addition to Saskatchewan, Ontario, Manitoba, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island saw minimum wage increase. Alberta did not increase its minimum wage and at $15/hr is lowest in the country.
