It’s my Parting Shot for T-F-P and Week 10 C-F-L picks…..
For a third straight week, I went 2-2 with my predictions – happy that I was wrong when it came to the Riders’ result in Montreal, and quite surprised by how the game went down. However, I’m a little disappointed at missing the Winnipeg win over Toronto in the back end of a home and home! On we go…
Tonight, B-C is in Hamilton. In this Battle of the Cats, it’s hard to make sense of the 3-5 Lions, who should be better, while wondering when the 6-2 Tiger-Cats have their bubble burst and lose again! With Bo Levi Mitchell being one of only two C-F-L starting quarterbacks to have not been sidelined by injury – the other being the dumpster fire guys in Edmonton – it’s hard to not pick the Ticats, as I will by more than a touchdown!
Friday Night Football has the aforementioned Elks traveling to Montreal. This will be a battle of back-ups, who last year played for the team that will be opposite them in this contest. It says here that McLeod Bethel-Thompson and the 6-2 Alouettes will slip past “Corn Dog” Cody Fajardo and 1-6 Edmonton by more than a field goal!
Saturday’s doubleheader starts with the C-T-V attempt to excite viewers in the G-T-A by having Toronto at home to Ottawa. That’s guaranteed to be an embarrassment when it comes to fans in the stands – what with the game on free T-V and being a Saturday afternoon! These are a pair of 2-6 teams, meaning a battle for third place in the East Division – and trying to avoid being pipped by a cross-over, especially if B-C loses in Hamilton tonight! Imagine that, the Argonauts and RedBlacks actually cheering for the Tiger Cats to win! Anyway, this isn’t that interesting of a match-up, so I’m going with the visiting team and Ottawa by less than a field goal!
That leaves Winnipeg in Calgary to finish the week. The 5-3 Stampeders have eviscerated the 4-3 Blue Bombers twice already this season. Both teams are trending towards having their starting quarterbacks return to action – Vernon Adams Junior for the Stamps and Zach Collaros for the Bombers. This one becomes my upset special for the week because I just have a feeling that Winnipeg wins by less than a field goal!
Last week’s 2-2 leaves me at 20-15 overall for the year – or an uninspiring 57 per cent! ~sigh~
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!
