A man who has been on the lam since April 11th, was arrested last month by Big River RCMP and the RCMP Prince Albert Warrant Enforcement Suppression Team.
In the afternoon of April 11th, RCMP responded to a serious assault at a home in Big River where the victim had been transported to hospital.
Investigation determined that two men had entered the home and assaulted another man with a weapon. Officers located and seized various weapons at the residence.
One suspect, 45-year-old Otis Watier of Lashburn, was arrested in Lloydminster April 17th but police have been on the hunt for 51-year-old Cole Hegland ever since.
On July 16th Hegland was arrested at a rural property in the RM of Big River and a firearm was seized from inside the home. A warrant had been issued for Hegland in April when he was charged with break and enter and commit indictable offence and aggravated assault.
He now faces additional weapons charges and will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court next Wednesday.
