The wildfire numbers in Saskatchewan are climbing again as we head into a long weekend with hot, humid conditions in the weather forecast. As of 3:30 p.m. July 31, 2025, there were 62 wildfires in the province – up five from 11 this morning. Of those 62 wildfires, 16 were considered not contained – four more than at 11 this morning.
The number of wildfires so far this year in Saskatchewan is 413, compared to 424 last year – but both those figures are well above the five-year average of 336. The latest update showed 10 communities under an evacuation order, including the Clearwater River Dene Nation which had their order issued just this afternoon.
