The government of Saskatchewan signed two Memorandum of Understandings Monday, one with the premier of Manitoba, and the other with the premier of PEI.
The MOUs were signed as an agreement to collaborate on enhancing interprovincial trade between the jurisdictions. This will be brought to fruition through a framework for direct-to-consumer alcohol sales, improving labour mobility and trade, and the facilitation of mutual recognition
The total value of interprovincial trade between Saskatchewan and Manitoba was over $6 billion in 2021, and the total between Saskatchewan and PEI was $44.25 million that same year.
Last week, Moe called on all provinces and territories to join the New West Partnership Trade Agreement, which represents Canada’s largest barrier-free interprovincial market.
