The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit has confirmed that the sudden death of 25-year-old Juanita Wahpistikwan was a homicide.  

On Friday, officers were called to a structure fire on a property in the RM of Beaver River, and when they arrived, the woman, from Big Island Lake Cree Nation was found dead. 

RCMP continue to investigate, and they say further details cannot be provided at this time.
