Michelle Ahenakew disappearance considered suspicious

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has taken over the investigation of a missing 40-year-old woman from the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation, about 70 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.

Michelle Ahenakew was reported missing on Thursday, June 12—but she had been last seen on June 5th on the Big River First Nation.

Residents of the Big River First Nation may notice an increased police presence during the investigation. RCMP are asking the public for any information that could help locate 40-year-old Michelle Ahenakew from the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation.
