RCMP report the suspicious package has been neutralized and Main Street is open to traffic.

Canola RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of the provincial RCMP Explosive Unit, Forensic Identification Services and the Saskatoon Provincial General Investigation Section.

Canora RCMP are currently investigating a suspicious package located behind a business on the 300 block of Main Street in Canora. Businesses in the vicinity have been evacuated. Schools and daycares in the general area have enacted their hold and secure protocols.

The origin and contents of the package have not yet been determined and Canora RCMP ask members of the public to avoid the Main Street area between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue.

The investigation continues with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Explosive Disposal Unit.
