On the eve of the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) annual convention in Saskatoon next week, the provincial government and SARM have announced details for the 2025 Rural Integrated Roads for Growth (RIRG) program.
Funding has been allocated for 32 road, bridge and culvert projects. The Ministry of Highways will invest more than $12.6 million with the participating rural municipalities funding the remaining $21.7 million.
Provincial funding is up to 50 per cent per project to a maximum of $500,00 for a road and a maximum $1 million for a large culvert or bridge. Rural municipalities pay for the rest and are also responsible for managing their approved projects.
